A Day in the Life of a Glazier from JPI Glass on Vimeo.

This is a question that our team gets fairly often, and no, it has nothing to do with donuts! A glazier is a skilled tradesman responsible for measuring, cutting, installing, and removing glass. In our case, our glaziers are responsible for making sure that all windows, doors, curtainwall, and storefront systems on a project are completed to the highest standards.

Glazing is not all about windows; glaziers work with a variety of surfaces and settings such as windows, doors, shower doors, skylights, display cases, glass handrails, mirrors, interior walls, glass canopies, and decorative glass.

A typical day in the life of a glazier is anything but routine. It may include reading and interpreting blueprints or specifications, removing and demolishing old glass, measuring or fabricating new windows or systems, installing glass into frames, or waterproofing and weather sealing around edges.
