Before we can begin installing the glass on some projects, we do an on-site mockup to ensure that everything is per the specifications for the project. On the KU Health Education project, we had a very large scale mockup as seen below. We created a two story freestanding mockup in order to be able to see all the different elements of the system together at the site before we begin full installation![Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”8″ gal_title=”KU Health Mockup”]
This project was a new recreation center built for Benedictine College. The majority of the exterior frames had gothic arches, and the aluminum material needed to be rolled to match the radius of the steel lintel. To accomplish this, we had to send the material to a third party with detailed drawings to show the pieces and the radius that it would need to be matched to. The entire process from the time we shipped the material off until the time we received it back was about five weeks, so we had to ensure that all the information we sent was 100% correct so that the project wouldn’t be delayed. Everyone was very happy with how the finished project turned out!
